Remove Shower Enclosure

My glass shower is the original in my 1951 home so it is coffin like compared to modern all glass shower doors swoon and i m not too crazy about the etched swan.

Remove shower enclosure. Solicit the aid of a partner or friend to wedge and pry the fiberglass enclosure away from the walls. Remove shower door or curtain rod. In this video i am showing how to safely remove demo fiberglass shower unit step by step removal.

Once you know how it is attached it will be easier to remove it. Pull up and out on the enclosure starting at one of its free edges. Using a home based cleaning solution sprinkle across the shower doors.

Examine the shower enclosure carefully to find out how its frame is fastened to the tiled shower walls to the crosspiece at the top of the frame and to the long side edge of the tub. Pry behind the fiberglass shower enclosure with a pry bar starting at the left or right side. Carry away and dispose of the fiberglass.

Use a metal scraper to remove any chalk or glue. We start by removing the faucet trim and base trim from the shower. Start at the edge of the shower enclosure.

Step 3 remove the stationary glass. Remove plumbing fixtures such as valve handles and the showerhead. Pry a glued on enclosure away from the wall with a crowbar.

Rinse the glass shower screen with warm water. Remove the top rail from the shower doors. You will see how to disconnect drain remove shower fixt.
